Married Emma May JENKINS on 28 Mar 1900. Obit is from the Wisconsin Tobacco Reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., Wi. Fri. 12 Feb 1926: WILLIAM BARBER WIlliam Barber, 53, was born Nov. 7th, 1872, on the Bussey homestead on Albion Prairie. He was the eldest son of Chas. D. and Mary Elizabeth Barber. He attended the country schools, and later attended the Albion Academy for the winter terms of a couple of years. Time spent in school was limited to the few months between the finish of fall work and the opening of spring work. He was married to Emma May Jenkins on March 28th, 1900, and a happy married life was broken on the first day of its 20th year by the death of the wife on March 29th, 1919. For the past few years he has lived in the home with his mother. The illness which terminated his life dates back to the October of 1922 and during the years and months since he has waged an heroic battle for recovery. Death came as release from suffering on Monday, Feb. 8th, 1926. Although never strong physically from early chilfjood, William Barber lived a life of great usefulness, discharging the responibilities of life in a thorough and kindly spirit. The care of sick devolved upon him for many years and he alway had time for matters pertaining to the welfare of others. He joined the Asbury Methodist Episcopal church of Albion Prairie in 1894 and had been a faithfull member of the church ever since, serving as a steward and trustee and also as a district steward until health no longer permitted to continue in that office. He was a member of the Albion Encampment of Modern Woodmen of America. Trials and losses ever found him secure in his faith. Faith In God as a Heavenly Father and the possession of a wonderful sense of humor made him a source of comfort and joy in the darker hours of his affliction. He leaves to mourn his passing, one brother, Rev. George Barber of Columbus, Ohio. a sister, Mrs. Penuel Brown, and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Barber, besides other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 2 o'clock at the home of the decedent and interment was made at Albion Prairie cemetery, Rev. R.J. Bailey officiated.
