Married Jane Maria SCOTT on 25 Dec 1872 Obit is from the Wisconsin Tobacco Reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., Wi. Thur 25 Jan 1934: WILLIAM GOLDTHORPE William Goldthorpe, 85, was born in Yorkshire, England, on August 2, 1848, and was the son of George and Ann Goldthorpe. He came to America when 21 years of age and settled on Albion Prairie. On December 25, 1872, he was married to Miss Jane Maria Scott and the couple made their home on a farm. Mr. Goldthorpe had been in failing health due to old age and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gus Wentler, on Friday, January 19th, where he had made his home the past two years. Surviving relatives are his widow, one son, John, Whitewater, two daughters, Mrs. Minerva Ostler, Park Ridge, Ill., and Mrs. Myrtle Wentler, this city; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two nephews, Weetman and George Dickinson, and one niece, Mrs. J.L. Holton. Funeral services were held on TUesday afternoon, at two o'clock at the Tellefson Funeral home and at two-thirty at the Busseyville church, followed with burial in the Albion Prairie cemetery, Rev. W.J. Williams officiating.
