NORTH Edgerton,- Frederick Arthur North, 73, 811 Blaine street, a longtime resident of the town of Sumner, died Monday morning as he sat listening to the radio. Mr. North had been in failing health for some time, but lately had seemed improved. A son of Thomas and Sarah Brailsford North, he was born June 5, 1873, in the town of Sumner. He was educated in the Busseyville school, and the Albion academy and in a Madison high school. Mr. North and Lillian McCarthy were married at Albion Aug. 23, 1894. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Charles, of Crandon, Thomas Wilfred and Ernest M. both of Edgerton; a brother D.W. North, town of Fulton; a sister, Mrs. Helen M. Whitcomb, Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-granchildren. MRs. North was the youngest of the children, six whom preceeded him in death. His grandparents came to the United States more than 100 years ago from England. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. THursday inthe Ruben Tellefson funeral home and at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church. The Rev. E.M. Oliver, Watertown, a former local pastor, and the Rev. Douglas O. Anderson will officiate and burial will be in the Albion Prairie cemetery. FRED NORTH Mrs. Fred A. North, 87, died Monday in the home of her son Ernest, near Kenosha. The former Lillian McCarthy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McCarthy, was born Sept. 18, 1870, at Eagle. Her parents moved to the Albion area when she was a child. She attended Albion Academy and the Whitewater Normal school and she taught at Lake Drive School near Busseyville. She was married to Fred A. North, Aug. 23, 1894. Her husband, two sons, Charles and Thomas, two sisters and two brothers preceeded her in death. Surviving are her son Ernest; nine grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Loyal McCarthy, Portland, Oregon. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Methodist Church here, the Rev. W.W. Holliday officiating. Buriel will be in Albion Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Norman Chatfield, Clinton Green, John Helgestad, Milo Lein, Arthur Johnson and Gordon Scheidt. Mrs. W.W. Holliday and Mrs. Harold Greenwood will give the song service with Mrs. Paul T. Schulze as accompanist.
