Married 30 Aug 1943 Obit is from the WIsconsin Tobacco Reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., Wi., Thurs. 02 Jul 1953: JOHN A. PIERCE John A. Pierce, 51, Rte. 1, Cambridge, died Tuesday, June 23, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He had been employed by Moe Light Inc., Fort Atkinson. The son of D. Clark and Lillian Barton Pierce, Mr. Pierce was born Jun 29, 1901 in the town of Sumner. He was married to Mrs. Violet Lokken, Aug. 30, 1943. Surviving are hiw wife; two daughters, Susan and Diane, at home; his father, Albion; a sister, Mrs. Brink Ogden, Albion; a step daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Nygaard, and three stepsons, Rodney, Romain and Richard Lokken, all Town of Sumner; neices and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Busseyville Community church, the Rev. Alban Tippins officiating. Burial was in Albion Prairie Cmetery. PIERCE, Violet L. 27 Apr 1910- 06 Oct 1953 Nee CHAPPELLE Adopted by William and Mae (SLAGG) SIMPSON. First marriage was to Odin LOKKEN. Second marriage was to John PIERCE on 30 Aug 1943 Obit is from the Janesville Daily Gazette, Janesville, Rock CO., Wi., Wed. 07 Oct 1953: MRS. JOHN PIERCE EDGERTON- Mrs. John Pierce, 43, died Tuesday evening in the Jefferson County Hospital following a long illness. The former Violet Simpson was born April 27, 1910. She was married to Odin Lokken, who died in 1935, and to John Pierce on Aug. 30, 1943. He died in June 1953. Surviving are three sons, Rodney and Romaine Lokken, Janesville, and Richard Lokken, Busseyville; Three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Nygaard, Cottage Grove, and Susan and Diane Pierce, Cottage Grove, her mother, Mrs. Mae Simpson, Edgerton. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Busseyville Community Church, the Rev. Alban Tippins officiating. Burial will be in the Albion Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the Jones Funeral home after 2 p.m. Thusday until 1 p.m. Friday, when the body will be taken to the church. Don't know if Violet was formerly adopted or not.
