Obit is from the Edgerton Reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., WI. Thur. 26 Jan 1956: DANIEL PIERCE D. Clark Pierce, 89, died Saturday afternoon in the home of James Ogden, Rte. 3, Edgerton, after a long illness. Daniel Clark Pierce was born in the Town of Sumner, June 12, 1866, the son of Daniel and Isabel Whittet Pierce. He was married to Lillian Barton on March 7, 1894. She died in 1947. He farmed in the town of Sumner all his life, on the same farm on which he was born. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Brink Ogden, Albion; six grandchildren and six Great grandchildren. A son, John, preceeded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Jones Funeral Home, the Rev. Albin Tippins officiating. Burial was in the Albion Prairie cemetery, Pallbearers wre William Trick, Morgan Rockne, Carl Johnson, Albert Johnson, Mark Draves and Art Driefke. The Rev. and Mrs. Tippins gave the song service with Miss. Gloria Trick as accompanist. Obit is from the Janesville Daily Gazzette, Janesville, Rock CO., Wi., MON, 05 May 1947: MRS. D. CLARK PIERCE Edgerton- Mrs. D. Clark Pierce, 72, died at 3 a.m. Monday at her home. She had been in ill health for several weeks. Lillian May Barton, daughter of Thomas and Mary Hemphil Barton, was born Sept 20, 1874, in Albion Prairie and became a member of the Methodist church as a young women. She was married March 7, 1894, to Mr. Pierce, and for 50 years they made their home on the Pierce homestead, in the town of Sumner. THey came to Edgerton to live in 1945. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, MRs. Mildred Ogden, ALbion, and John Pierce, town of Sumner; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; a sister Miss Myrtle Barton, Madison; and a brother George Barton, Fulton. A sister, Mrs. George Bunting, and two brothers, WIllis and Frank Barton, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Jones Funeral home. THe Rev. Douglass O. Anderson of the Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in the Albion Prairie cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
