Married Maria E. SLATER on 22 Dec 1886 in Manilla, IA. Obit is from the Wisconsin Tobacco reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., WI. Thur. 17 Jul 1941: JOSEPH SLAGG, FORMER ALBION RESIDENT, DIES: Joseph Heny Slagg, 86, Fort Atkinson, a former resident if Albion Prairie died Sunday evening at 11:50 o'clock in St. Mary's hospital, Watertown, following an illness of 11 days. Mr. Slagg was born May 10, 1855, on Albion Prairie, and was the son of John and Hannah Slagg. His early life was spent in that vicinity and he attended Albion Academy. On December 21, 1876, he was united in marriage to Maria E. Slater at Manila, Iowa. For many years the couple resided on a farm at South Kosokonong, later moving to Fort Atkinson. Surviving relatives are one son; a daughter, Venice Slagg, Fort Atkinson; a brother Alex H. Slagg, of California; a sister in law, Mrs. Van Meter, of California; and a brother in law, Earl G. Roberts, Fort Atkinson. Mrs. Slagg died seven years ago, and since that time Mr. Slagg had spent the winters with his son, Milo, at Houghton, Michigan. A son Rodney, also died 10 years ago. Funerl services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Downing funeral chapel, Fort Atkinson. Rev E.J. Mathews, Waukesha, officiated, and burial was made in the Albion Prairie cemetery.
