James 12 Aug 1826- 28 Jan 1896 Born in Measham, Derbyshire, England Son of William and Susannah .(SUMMERS) WILEMAN. Married Esther MARSDEN on 25 Aug 1847 in Dane Co., Wi. Obit is from the Wisconsin Tobacco Reporter, Edgerton, Rock Co., WI. Fri. 14 Feb 1896 Mr. James Wileman Sr. was born Aug. 12th, 1826 at Measham, Derbyshire, England. He left his native land and came to the United States in 1844, coming straight to Albion Prairie making this his home, and here he resided from that time to the day of his death, which took place on Jan 28th, 1896. He was 69 years, 5 months and 16 days old. He was one of the oldest settlers of the neighborhood, having lived here continuously for over fifty-one years. He was married to Miss Esther Marsden, Aug. 15th, 1847, by the Rev. James Alderson. There were born to them twelve children, six of whom preceeded him to that mysterious bourne whence no traveler returns, The other six are all living around here, except Mrs. Wm. Abbott who lives in South Dakota. They, with his life long companion are left to mourn their loss, which is irrepairable. He was a life long christian, a member of the Primitive Methodist church, and a local minister for over fifty-two years. In early day he did much pioneer work to preach and spread the gospel, hence he was well and favorably known by a large circle of friends. His funeral was held Jan 30, and was one of the largest ever seen in this neighborhood. Rev. M.C. Baker, his pastor officiated.
