Evelyn was born on Feb. 3, 1910, in Fennimore, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Stambaugh) Rosemeyer. She married Marvin Barghahn on Oct. 19, 1935. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1973. Evelyn worked for more than 20 years at the Methodist Hospital in Madison and later at the Central Wisconsin Center before her retirement. She also volunteered as a foster grandparent while at the Central Wisconsin Center. Evelyn also enjoyed her quilting, sewing, gardening and especially spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Rick Ballard) Hughes of Albany, and Cynthia (Dennis) Schrenk of Georgia; a sister, Cappy Mitchell of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, William (Dori) Hughes of Phillips, Kathleen (Derrick) Boyette of Bartow, Fla., Dennis (Cheryl) Schrenk Jr. of Georgia, and Dana (Jerry) Kolb of Anchorage, Alaska; 10 great-grandchildren, Britiany, Karmen, Ashley, Kirsten, Dennis III, Benjamin, Alexa, Gary, Celeeina and Ashton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; four brothers, Earl, Charles, Harry and Clair; and three sisters, Glynnis, Nettie and Lorraine. Funeral services will take place at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 5:30 p.m. A visitation will also take place at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
