Son of Arnold & Alice (BLOCK) BEHLING
Born in Johnson Creek, Wi.
He was Director of Administration, UW Extension
Behling, Gordon, C. MADISON - Gordon C. Behling, age 83, passed away 
peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. Gordon 
was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Johnson Creek, the son of Arnold and Alice (Block) 
Behling. He served his country and his fellow man as a lieutenant in the U.S. 
Air Force. He was a P.O.W. in Barth, Germany, before being liberated in 1945. 
He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1948. Gordon married 
the former Margie King on March 31, 1951. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran 
Church and was employed by the University of Wisconsin Extension as Director 
of Administration until his retirement in 1984. Gordon is survived by a niece, 
Janice M. Smith; her son, Todd (Jill Bradshaw) Smith and their children, 
Samuel, Sydney, Avery and Allison; and niece, Sandra (Ronald) Robran and their 
children, Kristin and Rebecca Robran. He was preceded in death by his parents
