Wed, 29 Sep 1909 SUICIDE IN POLICE CELL Despondent over his hopeless condition as a result of the excessive use of liquor, Jacob Gill, a familiar character in police circles, hanged himself in a cell in the police station at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. He used a roller towel. Gill was taken in at noon. Relatives had planned to send him to the Keeley cure. Coronor Lynch concluded death was the result of an insane impulse and decided not to hold an inquest. The deceased was a son of Mrs. Johanna Gill, 111 North Henry St, and was 44 years old.
