She was born on Oct. 10, 1905, in Redwing, Minn. After graduating from University of Minnesota, she married Fredrick Hillyer on Dec. 31, 1931. They moved to Madison and Lila attended librarian school. During World War II, while her husband was sent overseas, Lila served in the military at Fort McCoy. After the war she was employed at the Universtiy Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation as a librarian. Lila is survived by a niece, Jean Maxine Clausen. Private family services were held. Lila was a staunch supporter of the V.F.W. Memorials in Lila's name may be sent to the Wisconsin Veteran's Home, N2665 County Road QQ, King, WI 54946.
