She was born on Nov. 5, 1918, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Clara Isaly. A 1936 graduate of Bexley High School, Jane went on to further her education at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, earning her social administration degree from the Ohio State University in 1940. She loved all animals, especially dogs and horses, but treasured most the time spent with her family. In 1997, Jane moved to Madison and lived at the Rosewood Villas. Jane was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, the Red Hat Society and Asbury United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Prelesnik of Santa Ana, Calif., and Linda (Eric) Rice of Middleton; five grandchildren, Frank (Stefanie) Prelesnik, Lisa (Skip) Tanner, Scott Rice, Matthew (Jennifer) Rice and Kelley Rice; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Ryan and Troy; and a special friend, Eldon Halvorson of Madison. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin E. Rice; and her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Rita Isaly. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006, with the Rev. Harold Zimmick presiding. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Jane was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
