Hughes, Jeanette M. 
MADISON - Jeanette M. Hughes, age 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 9,
2003, in her home. She was born June 23, 1925, in Hancock,
Wis., the daughter of Clifford and Clyde (Stainbrook) Abbott.
Prior of her retirement in 1991, she had been employed by the
UW Hospital for 25 years as a housekeeper. Jeanette was one of
Jehovah's Witnesses and a member of the north Madison
congregation. On July 18, 1944, Jeanette was united in
marriage with Robert Hughes in Plainfield, Wis. In addition to
her husband Robert, survivors include two sons, Charles
(Myrna) Hughes of Mich., and Jerome (Janice) Hughes of Fall
River; one daughter, Nancy (Gary) Vandeberg of Columbus; 11
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie
(George) Gear of Wisconsin Rapids; and one brother, Glenn
(Marie) Abbott of Racine. She was preceded in death by her
parents and four brothers. Services will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at SCHROEDER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME,
where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Ken Cupit will officiate. Private entombment will be at Forest
Hill Cemetery., Cress Funeral Service Schroeder-Cress 3325 E.
Washington Ave.,
