Kelly, Margaret A. 
MADISON - Margaret A. Kelly, age 97, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23,
2003. She was born on March 24, 1906, in Ithaca, the daughter
of John and Sebella (Schauf) Gassen. Margaret married James
Kelly in 1932; he preceded her in death in 1975. She was
employed by the state of Wisconsin and the agricultural
division of the federal government as a statistical clerk.
Margaret volunteered for the Latin American Mission Program
(LAMP), the Atwood Community Center and tutored English as a
Second Language (ESL) up until her 90th birthday at Lowell
School. Margaret was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church,
where she was a very active volunteer working in their
library, teaching religious education and other volunteer
programs. She enjoyed traveling, visiting 48 of the 50 states,
and also traveling through many countries over the years. She
is survived by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in
death by her parents and her husband. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at 11 am. at ST.
BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., with Monsignor
Michael Hippee presiding. Burial will be in Forest Hill
Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at 10 a.m. until the time
