Sec 34, Lot MAUS-508-A Oestreich, Marion Tofte MADISON - Marion Tofte Oestreich, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005. She was born on Dec. 18, 1913. in La Crosse, the daughter of Carl Herman and Isabella (MacMillan) Tofte. Marion moved to Madison in 1933, and graduated from the UW School of Economics in 1935. On Sept. 10, 1938, she married Berlyn Richard "Ace" Oestreich. Marion was employed as a secretary for the League of Wisconsin Municipalities from 1935 to 1941 and for the University Bookstore from 1954 to 1978. She volunteered for Madison General Hospital Auxiliary and served as president in 1969. Marion also volunteered for the Oakwood Service League. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church since 1938, where she held many positions including, President of Bethel Ladies Aid and Bethel Lutheran Church Women, member of Church council, Altar Guild and Sunday School Teacher, she was part of the first group of Bethel Series teacher trainees in 1957 and was part of Bethel Befrienders at its inception. Marion is survived by her daughters, Margaret (William) Pfeiffer of New Hartford, N.Y., and Ellen (Roland) Kittendorf of Troy, Mich.; grandchildren, Fritz W. and Paul A. Pfeiffer, and David, Kathy and Kristen Kittendorf; great-grandchildren, Anya Mary and Jacob William Pfeiffer; and brother-in-law, Paul A. Oestreich of Tucson, Ariz. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at RESURRECTION CHAPEL IN OAKWOOD VILLAGE-WEST, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison, with the Rev. Richard Horst officiating. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Food Pantry or to Oakwood Lutheran Homes.
