US Air Force Son of Anton & Helen (PECOR) POSKIE Born in Rhinelander, Wi. Worked in Computers Poskie, David Lee MADISON - David Lee Poskie, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 6, 2004. David is the son of the late Anton and Helen (Pecor) Poskie. After graduating from high school at Rhinelander, David enlisted in the Air Force. David was selected for officer training school and was commissioned. During his 20 year career of service, he volunteered for three tours of duty in Vietnam. David attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was severely emotionally affected by his experience in Vietnam. David enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a degree in journalism. He then became a television newscaster in Rhinelander. At this low point, after struggles with depression, divorce and flashbacks of Vietnam, David courageously joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1979. He directed his energy and intellect into computers and became a computer consultant. He met his true love, Jeanne Fromm, in the fellowship. They married in August 1987. In the last 17 years, they shared a love of home and gardens, and their pets. Together they shared David's struggle with severe health problems. David is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children of his first marriage, Janet (Jeff) Moore, Frank Poskie, Martin Poskie and Leon Poskie; a grandchild, Sheena Poskie; four sisters, Judith Smith, Patricia (Mark) Thiel, Margaret (Roy) Windhorst and Sandra Poskie; and a brother, Peter (Jane) Poskie. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at 1 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road.
