SCHWOEGLER 21 Oct 1918- 22 Mar 2003 Schwoegler, Agnes F. MADISON - Agnes F. Schwoegler, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on Oct. 21, 1918, in Iowa County, the daughter of Ulrich and Margaret (Richard) Furrer. Agnes attended school in Hollandale and graduated from Mount Horeb High School. She then spent two years at Groves-Banhart Secretarial Schools. Agnes married Rodney Schwoegler, who preceded her in death in 1971. She then married Harlan Christensen, who preceded her in death in 1987. Agnes was also preceded in death by her special friend, Walter Scheidegger, in 2001. Agnes worked for Dane County for 30 years having spent part of that time as deputy county clerk and retiring from the Dane County Corporation Council Office. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge No. 410, and the Dane County Retiree Club. She was extremely proud of her Swiss heritage. Agnes is survived by three sons, Ronald (Dee) Schwoegler and Alan (Mary) Schwoegler, both of Madison, and Steven R. (Sharon) Schwoegler of Wisconsin Dells; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Tom) Schwoegler-Boos, Rodney, Karl, Jim and Paul Schwoegler, and Brian (Amy), John and Elizabeth Mitchell; a sister, Hilda (Fred) Theiler of Verona; a brother, Werner (Zona) Furrer of Spring Green; and many relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Furrer and Helen Zurbuchen; and brother, Walter Furrer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2003, at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, American Cancer Society or to Bethel Lutheran Church.
