He was born on Nov. 10, 1929, in Nelsonville, Wis., the son of Obert A. and Alice M. (Anderson) Wogsland. On July 1, 1951, Lyle was united in marriage to Barbara Carol Willadsen in Crown Point, Ind. He served in the United States Air Force, until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1968. He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. and a member of Burke Lutheran Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara C. Wogsland of Madison; three children, Susan Huss, Dennis Wogsland and Carl Wogsland, all of Madison; a grandson, Michael Huss; two step- grandchildren, Colleen (Bryan) Eisner and Jeffry (Linda) Huss; six step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Carol) Wogsland of Houston, Texas; a sister, Sylvia (James) Brown of Fort Atkinson; two sisters-in-law, Mary Dell Wogsland of Georgia, and Marjorie Willadsen of Peoria, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Steven (Lynda) Willadsen of Janesville. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Neal Wogsland; two brothers-in-law, Charles and Fredrick Willadsen; and a son-in-law, James Huss. A memorial service will be held at BURKE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5720 Portage Road, on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Russ Leeper and the Rev. Thomas Willadsen officiating. Private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711; American Cancer Society, 8317 Elderberry Road, Madison, WI 53717; or to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Peter Harnish; to his social worker at Hospice, Marna Brown; and also to the staff at HospiceCare Center for their compassion during this difficult time.
