Lewis M. Cory, son of Deborah Morril Cory (daughter of Jonathan Morrill and 
Deborah Hoskins) and James Cory (son of Job Cory and Anna Marie Bayley) 
migrated from Derby, Orleans County, Vermont in 1852, served during the Civil 
War with an Illinois company (he is erroneously record as Lewis Cary in many 
records).  He died April 13, 1865.  The inscription shows that he died at the 
Cumberland Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. 



Additional Comments:
This stone has been restored to its standing positions by Deborah and James' 
ggg-granddaughter Pamela Davies in 2004.
