GALLAGHER, Josephine L.

Gallagher, Josephine MADISON - Josephine Gallagher, age
91, of Madison died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at St. Marys
Hospital. She was born on Nov. 5, 1912, to Joseph and
Ellen (Connors) Gallagher. Josephine retired in September
1976 after a 30-year career as administrative assistant to
the membership/sales department of AAA Motor Club. She was
a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral. Josephine was very
proud of her Irish heritage and was a member of the Dane
County Shamrock Club. She enjoyed many years visiting Door
County with friends and family. She is survived by her
niece, MaryAnn (Francis) VanSlyke; nephews, Michael (Ann)
Gallagher, Thomas (Susan) Gallagher and James Gallagher;
and six great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins. She
was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ann and
Edna; a brother John; and a sister-in-law Agnes Gallagher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on
Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL, 222
W. Main St., with Monsignor Paul Swain officiating.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at the JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME,
5701 Odana Road, and also on Thursday at the church from
10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to St. Raphael's Cathedral Steeple
Fund, 222 W. Main St., Madison, WI 53703, in Josephine
Gallagher's name. The family wishes to thank the Coventry
Village Retirement Community staff and residents for their
care and friendship to our dear aunt. Joyce-Ryan Funeral
