Died in Madison, Dane Co., WI. Married 12 Sep 1869 in Highland, Iowa Co., Wi. Obituary, The Wisconsin State Journal, pg 12, Sat. Jan. 02, 1926: MRS. CATHERINE McMAHAN Mrs. Catherine McMahan aged 74 years, died Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Culver, after a long illness. She is survived by seven daughter's, Mrs. Elizabeth Turk, Mrs. Mary E. Higgins, Mrs. George Culver, Mrs. Jennie Young, Mrs. Rose Gorst, Mrs. Julia Armbrecht, Mrs. Joe Stevens, and five sons, Mike, Thomas, William, John, and Albert. The funeral will be held from the home Monday at 8:30 a.m. and from St. Raphael's church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary ceemetery. McMAHAN, Owen Thomas 1834- 29 Dec 1917 (Actual birth year is more likely bet 1841-1844) Born in Longford Co., Ireland Died in Madison, Dane Co., WI. Married 12 Sep 1869 Son of Michael and Rosa McMAHON Mr. McMahan was a veteran of the Civil war, serving thruout the conflict with Company G of an Illinois regiment, and took part in the battle of Gettysburg. He was in his 84th year at the time of his death, and had resided in Madison for seven years. The deceased leaves a widow and 12 children, all of whom attended the funeral except one son, Thomas, who resides in Stratton, Colo., and could not reach Madison in time. Obituary: The Capital Times, Monday, Dec. 31, 1917: Owen McMahan Owen McMahan, 82, died Sunday morning at his home 218 North Broom street. Funeral services will be held from St. Raphaels Church at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. The Rev. T.B. Johnson will officiate. Buriel will be made at Calvary. Calvary cemetary is now called Resurrection, and that is where he is buried. May 1844 as birthdate is from 1890 Census, Clyde, Iowa Co., WI. 1850 Census: Owen is living in Washington twnshp, Columbiana Co., Ohio with his brother Patrick and his parents.
