Marriage/Death records; Burr Oak newspaper, Juneau, WI Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives July 2, 2002 by Bill Porter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1853 - 1854 ‘Burr Oak’ newspaper accounts for local marriages and deaths. Juneau, Dodge County, Wisconsin Issues Scanned: 7 October 1853 to 29 December 1854 (v.7/2/2002) Transcriber’s Notes: The following files were transcribed from a microfilm copy of the Burr Oak obtained from the Wisconsin State Historical Society. The entries are listed in chronological order. News items, were not reviewed in detail to ferret out additional entries. Many deaths were reported by other regional or national papers and then reprinted in the news sections of the Burr Oak. I did not systematically transcribe these remote press accounts for this collection as it was my intention to find only local reports. Therefore, if you are seeking a particular event in Dodge County during these years, you should consult the microfilm again, to satisfy your search. I have done my best but, for any changes or additions please contact me via my email link. I hope this is useful to you, Bill Porter on 2 July 2002. As a lawyer, his position was eminent. - About four weeks ago he was taken down with a fever, from which he recovered sufficiently in about a fortnight, to able to go to Fond du Lac on some important professional engagement, but he went out to soon, for his strength failed him before his return, and he was taken to Kingston from Ripon, and in another week, was gone to his long home.
