Theodore Amundson, whose death occurred at New Mapleton Oct. 29, 1915, was a former resident of this city, having been born here Sept. 21, 1852, the family residing on South street near Elm street. They resided here for some eight years and then removed to a farm in Toland, which continued to be Mr. Amundson's home for many years. Some three years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Amundson went to New Mapleton to live, their sons, Thomas and Alvin, engaging in the merchantile business. Mr. Amundson's death is regretted by a host of friends. The funeral services which were held at the home and at St. Olaf's Church at Toland on Tuesday was the largest ever held in that church. Interment was in St. Olaf's cemetery. The Rev. C.J. Nolstad of Stone Bank was the officiating clergyman. The surviving relatives are a widow, two sons, Thomas and Alvin Amundson of New Mapleton, a sister, Mrs. Lena Anderson of Omaha, Neb., and three brothers, Andrew of Hartington, Neb., Thorval of Kalis_pell, Mont., and Albert of Lake Andes, _. D.
