Gould, dentist, Menomonie, was born in Madison County, Ohio, 25 October 1850. He enlisted in an Ohio regiment in March 1865, when only thirteen years of age. He served in the ranks about four months, and was on detached duty during the balance of his term of service. After the close of the war he went to Monmouth, Illinois, where he attended school for one year. In the fall of 1869 he went to Eau Claire, where he engaged in the study of dentistry with Dr. Sherman, of that city, with whom he remained four years as a student; he then became connected with his preceptor in the practice of his profession. In 1877, with Dr. Sherman, he went to Lake City, Minn., where he remained two years. He located in Menomonie in August 1879. He married Miss Annie, daughter of Dr. E. O.
