He came to this county with his parents when about twelve years of age. The family settled in the State of Illinois, but came to Wisconsin in 1855. Mr. Schutte has been a resident of Dunn County since that time. He was for several years engaged in business in Menomonie with Mr. Fred Ursinus, but sold his interest to his partner in 1873, and formed a partnership with Mr. [Albert] Quilling. He was married to Mary Reineke, a native of Germany. They have two children, William and Ida, and have lost two children.
