Came to Eau Claire county in 1864. Lived in the city of Eau Claire ever since, following his trade as a mason. Married to Susanne Schuhmacher, who was born in 1843 and died at Eau Claire, May, 1914. They had five children, of which three are living. A son, Fred Arnold, is a veteran of the Spanish-American War of 1898. Is a lawyer and practicing his profession in the city of Eau Claire and has held the office of district attorney for ten years. He belongs to the F. R. A. and Free Masons and also is a member of the German singing society "Germania" in the city of Eau Claire. In 1905 he married Miss Louise Moessner.
