Charles Betz was born in 1831 in Wuertemberg, Germany.  He came to this
country in 1849 and to Eau Claire county in 1858, where he has since lived
on his farm in the town of Brunswick.  He married in 1872 Emma Betz and 
they had four children.  For many years he was a member of the school board.
