Marston's mill, Eau Claire, was born at Green Lake, July 9, 1849; went to Berlin in 1863, and was employed in mill as engineer and foreman; enlisted early 1865, in 1st Wis. C., as musician, and served until the close of the war; was on the Plains for two years in the employ of the United States Government; then, for two and one-half years, fireman on K. P. R. R.; was engaged at Fairchilds [sp?] and other places in Wisconsin, as engineer in mills, for five years; was at Madison for six months in employ of C. & N. W. R. R.; came to Eau Claire in March, 1881, and engaged in present capacity; has been a member of "Temple of Honor" Temperance Society since 1880. He was married at Ft. Howard, March 8, 1877, to Mary Kate Reynolds, who was born in England.
