Came to this country in 1881 and settled on a farm in the town of Ludington. Moved to the city of Eau Claire in 1909, where he has since lived as a very successful truck farmer. He married, in 1871, Miss Wilhelmine Krueger, also born in west Prussia, Germany, and who died in 1891. Remarried in 1893, to Miss Emilie Desmer.
