In 1885 he bought farm land in Eau Claire and Chippewa counties, raised Norman horses, Cotswold sheep and Poland China swine. Mr. Kleiner was one of the largest farmers of Eau Claire county and when he died in 1889 he owned more than a thousand acres of land. In 1878 he married Miss Elizabeth Accola, from Sauk county, Wis., who also came from German ancestors. --Taken from "The History of Eau Claire County, 1914, Past & Present", page 567.
