John Konz, born in 1844, in the Rheinprovinz, Germany, came to this country 
in 1861, and to this county in 1874.  He has always been a farmer near 
Augusta, where he still resides.  He held the office as road commissioner 
and is a veteran of the civil war.  He served from 1864 to 1865 in the 
43rd Illinois Infantry, Company F.  In 1868 he married Miss Franziska 
Krisch, who was born in 1852, in Bohemia, Germany.  Two sons, of whom John 
is a blacksmith at Osseo and Walter a farmer on his father's place.
