Paul, born August 19, 1857, in Geisig, Prussia, Germany. Served as city treasurer of the city of Augusta for eleven years and as president of the school board for six years. Is a member of the Masonic lodge and lodge of Modern Woodmen. He married Jennie Howe at Black Earth, Dane county, Wisconsin, in 1879. Came to Augusta, Eau Claire county, in 1881, and has lived there ever since, and is engaged in real estate and insurance business. --Taken from "The History of Eau Claire County, 1914, Past & Present", page 559
