Carl Pehlke and his wife, Johanna Pehlke, both born in Germany, came to 
Eau Claire County in 1882, and settled on a farm, where Mr. Pehlke died in 
1906.  His wife still lives on that farm. Their son, Henry Albert Pehlke,
born in 1858, lives on same farm.  He married, in 1885, Marie Auguste
Wilhelmine Wamke.
