Christopher Schroeder, a mason by trade, came with his wife from Putzig, 
Germany, and settled at Ripon, Wis., in 1863.  From there they moved to 
Augusta, where Mr. Schroeder died in 1900, at the age of 84 years.  His 
wife died in 1889, at the age of 78 years.
