Came to Eau Claire county in 1856 and settled in the town of Brunswick. Served in Company G, Forty-eighth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, from February 14 to December 13 1865. He married in 1857 Selesia Hepperle, also born in Wuertemberg, Germany. He died in 1871 and his wife died in 1888.
