William Henry Wedemeyer was born in 1853 in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany.  
He immigrated to this country in 1880 and settled in the city of Eau Claire, 
where he followed his trade as a harnessmaker.  In 1889 he established his 
own harness shop and was very successful.  In 1884 he married Miss Catherine 
Haas, who was born in 1859, in Germany.  He was a member of the Knights of 
Pythias and died in the year 1901.
