John Jacob Auer

   "John Jacob Auer died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at his home 
on Williams-st., after an illness of several months of heart trouble. He 
was 78 years old and born June 12, 1849 in Switzerland, coming to the 
country at the age of 16 years. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, 
Mrs. J.B. Ellis, Maquoketa, Ia.; two sons, Frank Auer and Norman Auer of 
this city.

   Funeral will be held on Thursday and will be private."
