This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Janice Tilman 13 August 2000 ==================================================================== Died Babcock, David R., at his home in Bridge Creek on Fri., Nov. 16, 1900, aged 77 years, 5 months, and 20 days. The deceased was born in Painsville, Ohio, May 27, 1823. In 1845 he was united in marriage to Rhoda I. Norton, of Chardon, Ohio. They emigrated to Wisconsin in 1854, and settled in Walworth Co., and three years later came to Augusta, where they have since resided. At the time of the rebellion he enlisted in the 5th Wis. Vol. Inf., was wounded at Petersburgh, spring of '65, and honorably mustered out of the service June 14, 1865. His wife and two sons, George and Austin, mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband. Funeral services were held in Thompson Valley church, Rev. A.J.
