Betz and Myra Tanz Surnames: BETZ, BLAKELY, TANZ, HAYES Obituary of Chauncey Betz (January ??, 1981, Eau Claire Leader Telegram) Death date was December 31, 1980 CHAUNCEY BETZ "Chauncey C. Betz, 67, 1804 Taft Ave., died Wednesday at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Eau Claire and married Mary K. Blakely Jan. 9, 1941, in Eau Claire. He served with the army in Europe during World War II and was an engineer for the state Department of Transportation for 43 years until retiring in 1978. Survivors include his wife; one son, Thomas, Hudson; his mother, Myra T. Betz, a brother Kenneth F. Betz, and aunt, Louise Hayes with whom he lived for several years, all of Eau Claire; and two grandsons. Private services will be today at the Fuller Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to Sacred Heart Hospital or to the American Cancer Society."
