Death date was January 1, 1949 JOHN HELWIG, 85, DIES AT HOSPITAL "John Helwig, 85, of 836 Hastings Way, died Saturday at 4:15 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Buffalo County. At the age of 25 he moved to a farm in the town of Brunswick which he operated until 27 years ago when he came to Eau Claire. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Jack of Beloit, Benjamin of Hammond, Ind., and Millard of Brunswick; a daughter, Mrs. R.W. Troutline of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Heineck, Rochester, Minn. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Stokes and Sons chapel, the Rev. Herbert Juneau officiating. Interment will be in the Brunswick cemetery. Friends may call at Stokes and Sons this afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time of the funeral."
