Leinenkugel in Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (Friday, March 12, 1971) Carl J. Leinenkugel, 62, of 821 N. Bridge St., a grandson of the founder of Leinenkugel's Brewery here, died March 9 on the Island of Maui, Hawaii. Mr. Leinenkugel was born Sept. 5, 1908, in Chippewa Falls and attended St. Charles School, Chippewa Falls Senior High and Wisconsin State University- Eau Claire. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and received a law degree from the Columbus School of Law, Washington, D.C. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, and was associated with the Leinenkugel Brewery, serving as vice president for most of his business career. He was married June 14, 1969, to Mrs. Dorothy McElhanney in Indiana, Pa., and was a member of United Commercial Travelers, Elks Lodge of Chippewa Falls, and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; and a sister, Mrs. Thomas Gibbons, St. Paul. The Very Rev. Charles Wolf of St. Charles Parish, and the Rev. Merle Harberts of First Presbyterian Church, will lead a participation service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mason-Weber Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. Friday until services Saturday. A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
