Romain after a long and lingering illness passed away from earth on the 29th of May, 1885. She was born in the state of New York, September 2, 1820 and was therefore 64 years, 6 months and 27 days old. IN 1875 she with her family came to WI. She had been a devoted Christian, in early years a member of the Baptist Church; but in later years a Methodist. She leaves a large circle of weeping friends and relatives, who in their sorrow cherish a precious legacy the sayings and life of her who has gone. May they so live as with her to meet again. The funeral services, conducted by the writer, were held in the Troubled Waters School House, after which the remains were interred in the Augusta Cemetery. W.
