J. S. Palmer officiating. The Odd Fellows assisted with the arrangements and took most of the responsibilities. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery where one dughter, who preceded him in death, is buried. Mr. Ward lived in White for many years. He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge of this place and was a respected citizen and a good workman. Ill health deprived him of the power to care for himself so he sold his home in the west part of White and the past three years he had been one of the family at the I.O.O F. home at Dell Rapids. Although not very old, death came to him as a blessed release from physical incapacity. His many friends and brother Oddfellows as well as his family, deplore the fact that his years of usefulness could not have been longer. Many of the homes in White and vicinity bear permanent record of his skillfull handiwork. Others enjoy what his hands builded and he has gone to his reward.
