Hurd, of the city and county of Eau Claire, and state of Wisconsin, being of sound mind and memory, and mindful of the uncertainties of human life, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following: First. After the payment of my just debts and funeral expences, I give, device and bequeath to my beloved wife Betsy M. Hurd allt he rest, residue, and remainder of my estate both real and personal, and particularly the following described peice or parcel of land with its hereditaments and appertenances to wit: Lot number three (3) in Block number Eleven (11) of the Eau Claire Lumber Companies Enlarged fourth (4) addition to the city of Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Second. I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Betsy M. Hurd, the executrix of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize and empower her the said Betsy M. Hurd to compound, compromise and settle any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my said estate.
