Biography: Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin: George Giddings ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, August 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ George Giddings, of the firm of De Groat & Giddings; is a native of Wisconsin, and was born in 1852; lived at Sheboygan till 14 years of age, when, with his parents, he came to Fond du Lac; was educated in the public schools of Sheboygan and Fond du Lac; followed farming till 1872; from 1872 to 1875, he worked in a flouring-mill with his father; in 1876, became a partner of Mr. De Groat, in the farm of De Groat & Giddings, manufacturers of engines, mill machinery, etc. In 1878, he married Miss Hattie Belle Hunter, Daughter of George Hunter, of Fond du Lac; she is a member of the Episcopal Church.
