Born on May 31, 1840 in Dirmstein German, immigrated in 1853, settling in Fond du Lac with his parents. (Military activities then described.) In 1871, formed Bechaud Brewery with his brothers of which he is president. Married Elizabeth Kramer (daughter of Mathias and Mary Ann Petri Kraemer) on June 6, 1870. Survived by his wife and children: Mrs. F.W. Orth, Mrs. H.T. Schmidt, August, Mrs. John P. Kalt, Adolph, jr., and Mrs. W.W. Petrie; grandchildren: Adolph V. Orth, Charlotte Venne, Robert Bechaud, Ross Petrie, Marcia Petrie, Audrey Bechaud; brothers J.B. Bechaud of Fond du Lac and Armand Bechaud of Chehalis WA. Fischer, First Presbyterial Church officiating, burial in Rienzi Cemetery. Commercial National Bank and Citizens' State Bank closed Friday afternoon in his honor.
