She is survived by her mother and three brothers, Peter who resides here, Anton of Milwaukee and Joseph, who is studying for priesthood at Collegeville, Minn. Convent Obituaries, School Sisters of Notre Dame, Elm Grove WI Sister M. Angelia God had ordained that Mount Calvary was the birth and also the death place of our dear Sister Angelia. Sister first saw the light of day on October 13, 1875. She received a very good Christian training from her early childhood days in the parental home. When she was of school age she attended the parish school which was under the direction of our Sisters. At the age of fifteen she entered the Candidature at Mount Calvary. She was received on March 8, 1894 in Milwaukee and pronounced her Holy Vows on August 17, 1897. Her teaching career was spent at Detroit's mission, our second establishment. The seventh year she spent in the sickroom. As a teacher she had special love for her little charges, to whom she was a loving and devoted teacher. As a religious, Sister strove earnestly to fulfill her obligations and give good example to her companions. In the hope that the young Sister would regain her strength in her home climate, she was given the advice from the Motherhouse to go to Calvary to try to regain her health. That was in June, 1904. Here Sister gained the esteem of the community through her sisterly love, her reserve, and her love of prayer. Her gratitude and consideration for her nurse were outstanding characteristics. As a humble and poverty-loving sister she sought to ask for everything she needed, or after any service rendered her to say with deep and grateful smile, “May God reward you.” As long as she was able to handle a needle she busied herself with making and completing scapulars. Completely resigned to the holy will of God, the dear Sister had one wish, that to pronounce her Final Vows. The seven years from her first vows had expired in August, 1904 and Mother General had given the patient permission for Profession when a sudden weakness set in, and the blessed hour had to be postponed. On Friday afternoon, September 23, 1904 this total consecration took place in the presence of the Father Confessor and her companions. The next morning at three a.m. she quietly and peacefully slept in the Lord, as the new perpetual bride of Christ. Often during the night she asked the nurse, “Isn’t Jesus coming for me?” May the faithful soul of our dear Sister hear the sweet and gentle words of her Bridegroom, “Come, my Spouse, you shall be crowned.” May she rest in peace. additional comments: Anna Maria Beyer, daughter of Gertrude Petri
