Sept. 6, 1940, p. 20 Anthony Beyer, prison guard, dies of illness. Native of Fond du Lac city expires at hospital; ill six weeks. Anthony Beyer, 51, native of Fond du Lac and for the last 12 years a resident of Waupun, where he was a guard at the state prison, died at St. Agnes hospital at noon Thursday after an illness of six weeks. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Beyer, he was born here and was married in Waupun about 12 years ago to Miss Mary Rambow. Survivng are his widow, a son, Alfred, a brother, Joseph Beyer of Chicago; three sisters, Miss Elizabeth Beyer, Mrs. Clara Sanders and Mrs. Joseph Nelson (sic) of Fond du Lac. His mother died last December. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Hinkamp and Kohl Funeral home in Waupun and at 9 from St. Joseph’s church in that city. Services held in church at Waupun for Anthony Beyer, formerly of city. Funeral services for Anthony Beyer, officer at the state prison at Waupun, were held at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Hinkamp and Kohl funeral home in Waupun and at 9 a.m. from St. Joseph’s church in that city, the Rev. Gabriel Eilers officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, this city. Pallbearers were Clyde Fairmen, Oscar Schultz, George Schmitt, Archie Olson and William Thoenes, guards at the prison. Officers from the prison attended the services in a body. Among persons at the funeral were Miss Elizabeth Beyer, Mr. Clara Sanders and daughters, Lois and Joan, Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson and daughter, Rosalie, Eugene Beyer, Mrs. Rose Beyer, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bonnell, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Evans, Edward Vogt, Robert Peters and George Theyerl of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beyer of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beyer and family of Mt.
