Obituary: Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin: Peter BEYER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Michael Petrie, December 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Monday August 4, 1958, p. 26 COUNTY NATIVE EXPIRES AT 85; SERVICE IS SET Peter Beyer Dies at Home after Extended Illness; Retired Farmer Peter Beyer, 85, a retired farmer, died at 11:25 p.m. Saturday at his home, 183 Ledgeview avenue, after a long illness. Native of Mt. Calvary, he was born Nov. 8, 1873, the son of Thomas and Gertrude Petrie Beyer, and was married there June 20, 1905, to Gertrude Wagner. They farmed in the area until 1950, when they retired and moved to this city. Mr. Beyer was a member of St. Mary’s church and belonged to St. Anthony and Holy Name societies of Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary. Surviving are the widow; five sons and two daughters, Albert, Anthony and Edwin, Mt. Calvary, Louis and Frank, Milwaukee, Hildegarde, Milwaukee and Marion, city; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Zacherl Funeral home. Services will be there Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Mt. Calvary. Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Tuesday August 5, 1958, p. 18 Peter Beyer Funeral services for Peter Beyer, who died Saturday, were today at 8:30 a.m. at the Zacherl Funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s church, with burial in Holy Cross cemetery, Mt. Calvary. A solemn requiem mass was celebrated by the Rev. Edward V. Theisen, assisted by the Rev. Roland Dusik, O.F.M.Cap., Mt. Calvary, as deacon, and the Rev. Louis Biersack, O.F.M.Cap., also of Mt. Calvary, as subdeacon, The Rev. Henry A. Maurer was seated in the sanctuary. The Rev. Ephrem Hertel, O.F.M.Cap., conducted the committal rites. Pallbearers were LaVerne Beyer, Charles Beyer, Alfred Wagner, George Diette, Joseph Beyer and Clem Wagner.
