Obituary: Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin: Anton BUERGER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, July 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Commonwealth, May 4, 1912 Former Resident Dies at Mayville Anton Buerger, Build of Malt House, Dies Moved Away about 1890 Was Acting Mayor of Mayville and Prominent in Business Circles at His Death Anton Buerger, mayor of Mayville and a former resident of this city died at his home in Mayville Thursday evening following an attack of eryslpelas. Mr. Buerger erected the plant now occupied by the Fond du Lac Malt and Grain company and for several years operated it, selling out to John Reinig and removing to Mayville in 1889 or 1890. While in this city Mr. Buerger resided on West Second street. He has been a friend of A.P. Baker for the past twenty-five years. Thursday evening Mr. Baker received a telephone message telling of his death. Mr. Buerger was born in Bresleau Germany, about sixty years ago and came to this country when a small child. He was successful in business and at the time of his death was at the head of a big malting company at Mayville and interested in various other business enterprises. Surviving he leaves a wife, one sister, Miss Kate Buerger, Lomira and five brothers, who are John, of Milwaukee; Peter, of Mayville; Caspar, Conrad and Clement of Lomira.
